We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Gry Wester as Lecturer in Bioethics in the Department of Global Health & Social Medicine.
Gry Wester’s research interest lies at the intersection of political philosophy and public policy. Her work addresses questions in distributive justice and theories of equality, in particular as applied to questions concerning health and health care. Her research focuses on health inequality and population health ethics, priority-setting in health and social care, the capability approach, and conscientious objection in health care. She holds degrees from Trinity College Dublin (BA), University College London (MPhil, philosophy), and the University of Oslo (PhD, philosophy). She was previously a postdoctoral fellow at the Montreal Health Equity Research Consortium at McGill University, and a postdoctoral fellow with the Global Health Priorities research group at the University of Bergen.
Gry will be actively involved in the teaching of the MSc in Bioethics & Society and MSc in Global Health & Social Justice.
