We are delighted to announce that Hannah Mohammad and Katya Baker (pictured below) will be the joint recipients of the JELF Medal for SSPP which are awarded annually to a 3rd year UG student for academic proficiency and prominence in the social and collegial activities of the College. The medals will be awarded at the SSPP Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday 26th July 2017.
The students chosen to receive the JELF medal are those who, in the view of the Principal of the College, have most distinguished themselves during their undergraduate course in the College – both by excelling academically and by contributing extensively to the wider life of the College.
Alysia Montrose, our Senior Programme Officer for all Undergraduate Programmes in the department, says: “Hannah and Katya have not only been two of the most outstanding students in our first graduating cohort in the Global Health and Social Medicine UG programme, but also have worked tirelessly to support our department and enrich the wider student experience. Their work with creating and developing the KCL Global Health Society has improved the student experience of not only our GHSM students but also across the college. Their contribution to the department has been immense and having worked with them on countless taster days and outreach events I believe we couldn’t have wished for two greater ambassadors for the BA and BSc. I wish them both all the best for their very bright futures and hope many will be at Graduation to congratulate them on this momentous achievement”.
