Following up the 40th anniversary edition of the JME of January 2015 on ‘What is it to do good medical ethics?’ we are holding a one day conference discussing the topic.
Speakers have all been asked to focus on challenges to good medical ethics and to propose practical ways of meeting them. Speakers in the first two sessions will offer patients’, philosophers’, lawyers’ and doctors’ perspectives. The third session will address ethical governance of medical research. The Chair’s summing up and proposals for ‘next steps’ will end the conference. A drinks reception will facilitate further informal discussion amongst those who can stay on.
