Universal Health Coverage (UHC) is the provision of required health services for everyone without negative financial consequences. Epidemics such as Malaria, Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and Ebola in Africa can be aggravated by the difficult access to optimal and affordable healthcare services that deliver disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, management and palliative care.

What is the role of policy, political leadership, finance, planning and partnership in ensuring the continent moves towards and implements UHC?

Speakers will include:

H.E. Dr. Agnes Binagwaho, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Rwanda

Mr Robert Yates, Senior Fellow in Chatham House and Project Director of the UHC Policy Forum

Dr Sridhar Venkatapuram, Lecturer in Global Health and Philosophy, King’s College London

Dr Josephine BorghiHealth Economist, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
