You’re cordially invited to a Panel Event organised by the Global Health Policy Centre and King’s Think Tank on: ’Universal Health Coverage: Is it the future of healthcare in Africa?’
When: 5th February 2015, 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Where: Lecture Theatre 2, New Hunt’s House, Guy’s Campus
Universal Health Coverage (UHC) is the provision of required health services for everyone without negative financial consequences. Epidemics such as Malaria, Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and Ebola in Africa can be aggravated by the difficult access to optimal and affordable healthcare services that deliver disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, management and palliative care.
What is the role of policy, political leadership, finance, planning and partnership in ensuring the continent moves towards and implements UHC?
Speakers will include:
H.E. Dr. Agnes Binagwaho, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Rwanda
Mr Robert Yates, Senior Fellow in Chatham House and Project Director of the UHC Policy Forum
Dr Sridhar Venkatapuram, Lecturer in Global Health and Philosophy, King’s College London
Dr Josephine Borghi, Health Economist, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
All are welcome and no need to RSVP.
