BESJI Bioethics Film Screening December 2nd

We are delighted to announce that for the next BESJ Bioethics Film Screening Dr Lawrence Napper from Film Studies will be talking about Wounded Men and 1920s Cinema”, with a focus on facial disfigurement, and showing several short films related to the topic.

Where: Film Screening Room, Ground floor East Wing, King’s Building (first room on the right when you exit the East Wing)

Dr Lawrence Napper

Dr Lawrence Napper is a Lecturer in Film Studies here at King’s. His research interests include British cinema and popular culture before 1970; silent cinema; musicals and representations of the 1914-18 war. He  is currently working on a study of British film in the 1920s and its relationship to the First World War.

Drinks and nibbles will be provided. Hope to see many of you there!

The BESJI Bioethics Film Screening will resume in January with a series of movies discussing issues around ‘Ageing‘. Dates and titles will be announced here shortly.
